Ballinger Tennis Singles Comp – Flex League
On going Singles competition for intermediate to strong club standard players. If in doubt about your standard...call.
What it is
Players will be placed ‘Boxes’ (groups) of 3, (based on standard but somewhat randomised to begin with) EG if 15 players register we will have 5 ‘boxes’ #1, #2, #3,#4,#5.
Participants commit to play against the 2 other players in your ‘box’ within the timeframe specified. E.g. 2 matches to complete within 3 weeks. NOTE: This constitutes one ‘Round’.
Matches can be played at any time within the specified timeframe for each Round. Each match to be scheduled by agreement between competitors.
At the end of a Round the highest scoring player in each box gets promoted for next Round. Eg winner of Box #3 gets promoted to Box #2. The lowest scoring player goes down a box. This way everyone finds their level and gets to play a variety of players over time.
Your challenge is to get into the #1 Box, and stay there!
How it works
Matches must be played at Ballinger and must be booked online (or through Paul). 2 hours court time allocated for each match.
Matches played as best of 3 sets. First 2 being standard tiebreak sets, 3rd set decided by match tie break (first to 10 – with 2 point advantage). Match cards will be provided to record scores.
A round will consist of 2/3 matches for each player. Entry fee is paid before the round starts.
Entry fee covers your court hire fees and is equivalent to $5 per match for members, $8 per match for non-members. Bloody Cheap!
Balls are not included but can be provided at extra cost. Use of lights will be $2.50/match.
From personal experience I know this format is great fun and works well, as long as all players commit to play and co-operate with each other to complete matches.

Prior to the comp start you will be sent a payment request. Entry is only valid once paid. You will then be sent the details of your competitors so you may contact them to arrange your matches.
